Talented Students and Graduates Celebrated at DMU Made Entrepreneurship Awards 2024:

Last month, De Montfort University (DMU) celebrated the remarkable achievements of its students and graduates at the DMU Made Entrepreneurship Awards 2024, hosted in collaboration with The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity (STW)

This event is an event the DMU Made Team as well as many people look forward to all year around and mark it in their calendars. The event this year was combined a TEDx-style session followed by an awards ceremony to inspire and recognise innovation. Local entrepreneurs, DMU staff, and students delivered engaging talks and Q&A sessions. The line-up included notable speakers such as Neil Holden, DMU Mentoring Manager Andy Morris, professional speaker coach Mark Prescod, student entrepreneur Paige Billings, and Trance music legend Chicane. Talks from the event will soon be available for streaming on YouTube.

At the awards ceremony, 14 awards were presented, including the Entrepreneurial Alumni, Graduate, and Student of the Year awards. A standout moment was the Pitch2Win competition, where Media Production student Ismael Onsa succeeded. He is also currently on DMU’s Enterprise Placement Year (EPY) programme. This also supports content creation for social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Adding to the entertainment, the event featured a performance by Britain’s Got Talent musician Harrison Pettman and commentary by Capital Dance presenter Charlie Powell.
