Entrepreneurial DMU graduate Roshni Des

An Entrepreneurial DMU graduate featured on dmumade.com has made the finalist list for this year’s Leicester Innovation Awards.

Roshni Desai, a former contour student, is nominated for her innovative lingerie company which she started whilst studying at the University. She later joined The Crucible, a two year programme which supports graduates to grow their businesses.

The Innovation Awards, which take place on Thursday (24 FEB), recognise and reward the best new ideas coming out of businesses based in the city and county.

Roshni told dmu.ac.uk “I am really overwhelmed that I have been selected as a finalist in the Creative Industries Category. The past year has proven to be quite a challenge for me and my business and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to tell my story to more people. I never thought I would be shortlisted let alone make it as a finalist for this award.”

Simon Baines, DMU’s student & graduate enterprise manager said “We are so thrilled to see this latest recognition for Roshni. I remember her being entrepreneurial all the way through her studies, when she started her business and I know the finance she received through DMU’s Crucible programme would have really helped to develop her business. We were thrilled to be able to recognise Roshni’s achievements in last year’s DMU Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Awards and we wish her the very best of luck in the Leicester Innovation Awards”.
