Students get set for next Enterprise Placement Year

The Enterprise Placement Year at DMU is an alternative to a traditional placement, where students have the opportunity to start their own business, with £3,000 financial support, taught lectures and 1-1 business mentorship from the DMUworks Enterprise & Entrepreneurship team. Students learn about the fundamental steps to successfully grow a business, whilst developing professional skills and improving their business acumen. The year is also credit baring (30 credits).

Now in its third year, student businesses have included a whole range of startups including digital marketing agencies, videography services and new fashion brands.

The class of 2021/22 will include an online bakery, a new lingerie brand, a new medical tech app and a vintage clothing company.

We’ll be following the students’ progress via this blog in the coming months. Watch this space!
