Apply for a £100 DMU Made Startup Grant

DMU Made has Startup Grants of £100 to give to students and recent graduates (individuals who left DMU since 2024).

Due to funding regulations, we can only give payments to:

  • UK students or EU students with settlement status.

  • Individuals who have not received a grant previously - unless it’s a brand new business you’re registering.

Can DMU Made help you register?

Yes, DMU Made can help you register as a Sole Trader (freelancer) or register your business. You can book a one to one with us via https://my-gateway.dmu.ac.uk or the DMU app for this.

Once you have registered, we’ll need your Unique Tax Reference number (UTR) or business registration number - you can submit this to us via the form below. Only students/graduates who register after July 2026 will be eligible for a payment.

Please remember if you are trading via a side-hustle, freelancing venture or business, you should register with gov.uk. There is no cost to register as a sole trader.

Terms and Conditions: DMU Made will run a number of initiatives and activities in 2026 which offer funding in return for a UTR notification. Please note, each student or recent graduate will only be eligible to receive one DMU Made Grant, regardless of how many initiatives they engage with. DMU Made reserve the right to make some initiatives exclusive to students and recent graduates who haven’t yet submitted or registered for a UTR.
